Classic Wound
Classic Wound Pickups were designed with the best vintage examples heard from the 50's and 60's in mind. We slightly modified the original designs to be much smoother and more balanced for an extremely versatile vintage tone. They are lower output for a clearer sound with less distortion allowing your amp to do more of the work. These are, by far, the smoothest and warmest pickups with exceptional vintage tone and just the right amount of output. All of this combined makes the Classic Wound Series a more versatile vintage design that will please almost any playing style from blues, jazz, country, and rock.
Classic Series Pickups have many available options to accommodate for different playing styles and guitars. Our stock pickups are mostly preferred however the options we have listed are also very popular and we don't offer anything that doesn't make sense in regards to the design. All options are listed under each pickup for you to specify in the notes during checkout.
Modern Wound
Modern Wound Pickups are designed for those who need more power and drive for their amps without being over the top. These are higher output however, they were specifically designed to be clear and loud without muddying up your sound like many overwound pickups can be. If you need to fatten up your sound, or increase your sustain and output, look no further than our Modern Wound pickups. These are recommended for bright guitars or players who like to use higher gain settings. Don't be fooled with the high output, these will still clean up very nicely, especially for bright sounding guitars and amps.
Modern Series Pickups have limited options available which are listed under each pickup. Being an overwound pickup does limit the amount of options available because there is only so much that can be done with this design that will make sense. Please specify any options in the notes during checkout.
Clone Series
Clone Series is exactly that...custom clones of specific original pickups from the 50's and 60's. They drip with vintage tone. If you have ever heard a really good sounding pickup from the 50's and 60's then the Clone series speak for themselves. These are the lowest output series which makes them by far the brightest and clearest of the Custom Wound pickup line. Custom options are limited to the vintage design and parts that are used.
Clone Series Pickups use the exact same materials as the originals for a completely faithful vintage pickup. We did however improve common inconsistencies accosiated with the original vintage designs, such as more balance between the neck and bridge pickups and wax potting to eliminate annoying feedback.
Convertible Series
Imagine having one completely versatile guitar that could give you any "real" pickup tone from vintage to modern, without using pedals or complicated switching. Imagine that being the guitar you already own!
Finally the NEW Custom Wound Convertible Series Pickups have made this possible! Custom Wound Convertible Series Pickups are a revolutionary yet simple design that will convert any humbucker or single coil pickup from a pure vintage output setting to a higher output setting with the quick push of a knob. It doesn't get any simpler than that - and best of all - you don't have to steer away from the current wiring scheme you're accustomed to. Get incredible pure tone directly from the source without using other devices that give you, lets say, "a less than real" sound.
All Convertible pickups come stock with one of our high quality custom US spec Push-Push pots that will directly replace any tone control without modification.
