The Tyler Shark is similar to the Super humbucker but with slightly less output and bass response. Like the Super, the Shark has balanced tone in every way, with a very smooth and round top end presence. It distorts evenly with plenty of sustain and compression, but adds a little more in high frequencies and less mids compared to the Super.
The Shark cleans up very nicely, remaining clear and warm for those who need a darker sounding bridge position pickup. The Shark is recommended for heavier rock tones to metal or jazz.
Each James Tyler humbucker uses the highest quality, low capacitance 4-conductor lead wires, made of 18 strands of individually silver plated oxygen free copper wire, and then insulated with Teflon. The insulation does not melt when you solder, and the wire won’t hum when you touch it.
