Amplifer Kit FAQ

Amp Kit Shipping Latency

Mojo amp kits are pulled on an order-by-order, component-by-component basis and our cabinets are made according to our production schedule. For this reason, we do not advertise our kits as being stock items. We don't want to frustrate customers who assume their amp kits will ship out within 1 to 2 days from ordering.

Small parts typically ship out in 3-5 days. Cabinets typically ship out in 3-4 weeks.

DISCLAIMER: Some of the parts contained in this kit are subject to availability. Mojo Musical Supply reserves the right to change or substitute any and all of the parts contained in this amplifier kit without advertisement or notification to the buyer. Can I get the kit with or without a transformer, resistor or speaker?

The only parts that can be added, removed or changed are the cabinet, tubes, and speakers. You can select variations to the kit from the kit detail page represented on the right of the item detail page under "Select Options or Variations...". If you change any other parts, it is no longer considered a kit, at which point you should just make a list of the parts you need and order them.

I need more help than you guys are offering. How can I get it?

Purchase the kit from one of our dealers. Here is a list of Mojo dealers that put their own twist on the kits and offer full support. Dealers, if you want to be on this list, let us know which models you are supporting.

If I follow the wiring diagram exactly will I have a perfect replica amplifier?

No. The wiring diagram is meant as a general guideline. Lead dress, grounding schemes and wiring techniques are as varied as the people who build amps.

This workshop will teach the fundamental construction skills necessary to assemble and properly wire a Fender-style tweed tube amp or 18-watt. Utilizing amp kits, students will build their own amp all under the helpful eye of the instructor.

What is the advantage of your Amp Kits over other manufactured amps?

What we offer is a reproduction vintage amp kit. It's really not meant to compete with the assembly line, PC board amps that Fender is selling. If you've ever played a vintage hand wired amp I'm sure you have noticed that they do have a bit of "magic" to their sound. We like to believe that the "magic" comes from the sum of the parts, i.e. quality components, a hand wired board, and a solid pine cabinet.

Small components can make a big difference in tone. Everything that we provide in our kits is as close as possible to the original components that Fender or Marshall® used in the 50's and 60's. We're not out to say that Mojo Kits sound better than anything else, we're just saying that they are as close as you can get to the real thing.
