R.J. Ronquillo and Phillip Mcknight Experience the Mojotone Amp Build Workshop!!
Hosted and lead by Mojotone’s Production and Tech Manager Andy Johnson and Amp Products Manager John Manning, this two-day program will take you through a classic “Tweed Style” amp build where you will learn soldering techniques, general amp circuit theory and an overview of what makes the “5E3” circuit a ubiquitous blueprint for countless amplifiers.
You will be guided through the build process, learn to read a wiring diagram and be shown how to use a schematic. Instructors are on hand to quickly address any questions and to help troubleshoot issues if you run into a problem.
By the end of the two-day workshop, you will have hand wired your very own tube amp to enjoy for years to come and have a better understanding of what makes a tube amp so special.

null Just completed this workshop at Sweetwater in June 2020. What a great experience! I'm one who would've never attempted this without this class. The workshop/kit is really well organized and understandable for someone with no experience like me. The instructors were excellent and made the it fun. I left with a working all tube tweed amp that sounds great!

null What a great workshop. My soldering experience was limited to replacing my tele control plate and building a fuzz pedal. The tips and techniques shared in this workshop have given me all the confidence I need for future amp/pedal/electronics builds. You don't need an electrical engineering degree to take this course. It's like a paint-by-number but with 2 qualified instructors that can answer any question from basic to advanced so maybe I should say it's more like a "choose your own adventure." And the best part is you leave with your very own Tweed Deluxe!

null I was at the October 2018 class as well. Helpful/friendly staff, great class and well worth the $$ to build it yourself with their assistance. I MIGHT have been able to build it myself, but would have been asking a ton of questions on DIY forums. Went home with an awesome amp. I've been building pedals for years and this was my first DIY/kit amp. Definitely filled in the blanks regarding the parts/theory behind what-does-what enough that I feel confident to build my next amp (Mojotone's Blackface Bassman AA165).
Very cool facility, too.
Best advice I can give for the class would be to bring an LED headlamp (one of those with the stretchy/elastic bands) and a pair of magnifying/reading glasses or goggles. Strictly optional, but I found the 5E3 is a tight chassis to work in, and despite the classroom being very well-lit, it can be difficult to see what you're soldering.

Retired I went in October 2018. This was a great learning experience. Staff was very competent and helpful at every step. I am very glad that I took the trip to Burgaw, NC. I have a rocking, hand wired, point-to-point 5E3 that I built! I feel confident in building my next amp on my own!
