"...if you want to get as close as possible to vintage Gibson humbucker tone, the ’59 PAF Clones are a great way to go." -Guitar Player Magazine, May 2014

The 59' "Patent Applied For" Clones are for the tone purist. Authentic to every detail using all American made parts. 1959 spec butyrate bobbins, 1959 spec long leg frame, custom vintage spec plain enamel wire, custom alnico 4 cast magnets, maple spacer, vintage spec screws, and vintage spec slugs.

These are lower output than our standard version, making them much more articulate and crisp. Ideal for dark sounding guitars or just a neck pickup that needs a more single coil like clarity. The upper frequency range has exceptional bloom and lots of airy tone with the un-potted coils. We meticulously wound each coil with our own pattern and offset to represent what we believe to be the best vintage P.A.F. examples out there.

Couldn’t ask for more

by Peter -

I recently finished a thinline Tele build, and put a set of these low output humbuckers in the guitar. All I can say is WOW! I finally found some humbuckers that have wonderful character, complexity, and versatility. To put it in perspective, I only play single coils with very few exceptions, because most humbuckers sound and “feel” dull to me; or they simply have too limited usefulness in the real world. These low output 59s are just as rich as any of the best pickups of any style in today’s market…PERIOD! Go ahead and try some already!

Great PAFs at a great price

I’ve got a set in my 98 SG, and a set in my 06 336. It brings out the best in both instruments when run into a cranked deluxe reverb. Articulate, chimy but not harsh, and truly a classic sound
