** Winner of the PREMIER GUITAR 5-Way Frenzy: Vintage-Style Strat Pickup Review Roundup**HERE

From the Premier Guitar Roundup Review:

"...If Strat pickups were cats, the other sets would snarl. This one purrs. This ’59 Clone set may be too restrained for some, but for those who appreciate the deep, baked-in character of old guitars, this set is the one to beat."

Mojotone has cloned the original 1959 Strat® pickups that recreate the unmistakable 1959 tone. These pickups are an important part of the evolution of guitar electronics and we knew we needed to recreate them in the most ideal way possible. We copied a specific set of original 1959 Strat® pickups that really caught our attention and stood out as something very special.

Each coil is handwound to the exact same specifications. We painstakingly went out of our way to use the exact same materials and manufacturing methods. Sand cast Alnico 5 beveled magnets, vintage-spec heavy Formvar coil wire and lightly wax potted just like the originals.

These have amazing warmth and clarity that absolutely nail that 1959 Strat® sound.

I'm a guitar neophyte without a resume' of extensive experience, but I've done quite a bit of pickup and electronics swapping involving Squiers as well as American made Strats. These pickups are incredible..Extremely glassy, with the famous Strat spank intact. Definitely too subdued for some. They're so "vintage" sounding that they sound "tired". Hard to put into words. A beautiful blues tone. I install 7 way switches on all my guitars, and the "all 3 at once" pickup position is to die for. Still lots of bite from the bridge only position. Bridge/neck position is unique as well. I highly recommend these pickups!

I wanted to go with a vintage set of pickups for my 2012 Am. Std. Strat which originally came with Fat 50's. I had changed to a set of Fender Original '57/'62 p/u' which were quite vintage sounding, but were very hot. I wanted a set of good vintage p/u's that were not overwound. I corresponded about Mojotone's 59' Clone set with David Shepherd, who is the man behind these pickups at Mojotone. That was all it took for me to order and install a set of the 59' Clones. I'm glad I did, as they are EXACTLY what I was looking for in a set of vintage strat pickups. Thanks David & Mojotone!
