Most are not aware of the differences between the original Wide Range humbucker from the 70's and the reissue version of today. The main difference is the magnet structure. The original Wide Range humbucker used actual threaded magnets straight through the bobbins whereas the reissue version uses threaded steel poles that are magnetized by a bar magnet across the bottom. The result of the reissue Wide Range is a much darker sounding humbucker with less chime, focus and clarity as compared to the original.

The Mojotone '72 Wide Range clone humbucker completely captures that original sound with some overall improvements from the original design like a slightly underwound neck pickup for a more balanced neck to bridge pickup tone, and 4-conductor wiring for more tone options such as coil tapping and series/parallel wiring. Fully vacuum potted. Available in Chrome only with mounting hardware. 500k pots recommended. Does not fit standard humbucker routes because of the larger original size.

I have a MIM Fender 72 Tele Thine-line reissue. Sounded great and played great until after 6 months the Wide Range Humbuckers started making a crackling sound as if there was an electronic problem. Turns out they are very cheaply made and I just decided to order the Mojotone clones after doing a lot of research. I was a bit disappointed that they said it would take over two weeks, but when I found out it is because they are hand made, I just resigned myself to the fact that it would be worth the wait. To my surprise they got them to my Guitar Tech in 8 days and he installed them last night just in time for tonight's gig ! They sound phenomenal !! Crystal clear and balanced. Very pleased all the way around and the service obviously surpassed my expectations. Highly recommend Mojotone !!

WOW, WOW,WOW!! What a great upgrade for my Fender Reissue Starcaster.. So much more string definition than stock pickups. I like my neck pickup to push the amp so I installed 2 Bridge WRHB pickups, and they sound great, nice over drive for Blues or Classic Rock. Exact fit for my guitar
