Mojotone Amp Work Shop
Date: October 18th and 19th 2024 (Friday & Saturday)
Time: 9AM - 5PM, Lunch at 12:00 PM both Friday & Saturday
Includes Lacquer Finish Mojotone 5E3 Style Tweed Combo Amp Kit, two-day Amp Build Workshop and catered lunch.
Tools & Supplies: All tools and shop supplies will be provided for your use during the class.
Location: The Mojotone Amp Build Workshop is hosted at our shop at 137 WORTH BEVERAGE DRIVE BURGAW, NC 28425
What to Expect: You will spend two days with our instructors who will guide you through the build, explain amp circuit concepts, and basic electronics. You will be soldering, assembling and genuinely getting your hands inside an amplifier.
Hosted and lead by MojoTone’s Production and Tech Manager Andy Johnson, this two-day program will take you through a classic “Tweed Style” amp build where you will learn soldering techniques, general amp circuit theory and an overview of what makes the “5E3” circuit a ubiquitous blueprint for countless amplifiers.
You will be guided through the build process, learn to read a wiring diagram and be shown how to use a schematic. Instructors are on hand to quickly address any questions and to help troubleshoot issues if you run into a problem.
By the end of the two-day workshop, you will have hand wired your very own tube amp to enjoy for years to come and have a better understanding of what makes a tube amp so special.

Well worth it!

I completed this workshop and build in the aftermath of a Hurricane that devastated much of eastern North Carolina. Many Mojotone employees were displaced by the storm and hotel accomodations were limited. But the workshop was held and was more that I expected. We first got a tour of their shop, then settled in to build our amps. The limited class size allowed individual attention for the participants.We had folks of all ages from all over the country; with different reasons for attending. Andy and the crew were exceptional. I learned how NOT to kill myself when working with a tube amp. I highly recommend this workshop. In addition, the post workshop support is priceless.

After years of tinkering, trouble-shooting, and doing amp mods on my own, this was such a huge confidence-builder! AJ and Andy went above and beyond to make us all feel like we were right where we belonged. If you get a chance to do this, don't hesitate. You'll leave with an amazing little beast of an amp and invaluable knowledge and experience.
