We wanted a new speaker that was in between the British Sound and the American Vintage sound so we came up with the new Greyhound Speaker. During the design process we mainly used a Blackface Twin to test so we think this speaker sounds particularly good in this type of amp as well a Peavey 5150 for high gain. As far as tone goes, the Greyhound is smoother sounding on the top end and upper midrange than a Celestion Vintage 30 but has more punch than a Jensen C12N. It has a great rock tone (specially for mid gain to high gain amplifiers) but stays clean enough for those who don't like too much speaker break-up.

A hidden gem! Full and well rounded.

When I decided to go on a tone quest, I purchased several brands of speakers. Out of the 8 that I ordered, The Greyhound was one of them that I kept going back to. I have it put it in various sized 2x12 (EVH 212, MoJoTone Imperial, Orange PPC212OB, MojoTone Twin Canyon), I have paired it with several different speakers (DV77, F70, G12H Anniversary, WGS Invader 50, G12H-75 Creamback, UK Vintage30, CV-75, Nighthawk75). What I found for my style of playing was, The Greyhound sounds outstanding when I paired it with a Celestion G12H Anniversary in my 2x12 Twin Canyon cab. Perfect amount of bottom end with a full well rounded tone. It also paired well with the Jensen Nighthawk 75 and the WGS Invader 50. All in all, the Greyhound has quickly be come one of my favorite speakers. It didn't matter if i used a JCM900, Mesa Single Rect-o-Verb or a Peavey 6505, it sounded very well rounded.

Outstanding speaker!

I love this speaker! I pair it with a Mojotone British Vintage, each in 1x12 cabinets, and run them with a Dumble-style amp. The Greyhound is the perfect compliment- less mids, more top and bottom but not thin sounding by any means! Greater power handling gives more headroom, which really highlights the sparkling cleans of the amp. It handles the overdrive easily and with minimum coloration. Very fairly priced, a great value, but even greater tone! I've even run it with an Ampero amp modeler - it does a fine job giving life to the digital signals.
