Tired of playing through those kiddie practice amps that lack tone as much as they do quality? Try our Mojotone Studio One Amplifier and bring awesome tube tone to your home or studio. Equipped with a single 12BH7, two 12AX7 tubes, and a 12AY7, this tiny amp works well in the studio or mic’d up on stage. And don’t be shy to put some pedals in front of it either, because it does play nicely with them.
About one watt of output sounds awesome for studio or home use! This is an ideal amp for the gain of an 800 style amp at low volumes. Stock setup includes 12BH7 for running as an output tube, however you can run a 12AU7 or 12AT7 for less output volume.

When purchasing a kit from Mojotone, you will receive the following documentation.
2. Wiring Diagram / Layout
Our beginner level kits such as the tweed champ and tweed deluxe include a manual. If you purchase a kit from Mojotone and do not receive these documents, you can obtain copies by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 800-927-6656. The Mojotone staff is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST unless otherwise closed.
Mojotone kits include the best quality parts that are available at the time of purchase. If a substitution is required, our team will use parts that are of equal quality to ensure the integrity of the kit build remains the same.
Building a fully functional amplifier kit is not an easy task. Before building a kit, one should have the ability to properly solder as well as read and understand a schematic and wiring diagram. While we do our very best to ensure all documentation is current, the included documentation is meant to serve as an overall guide to building the amplifier. Simply following the schematic and wiring diagram does not guarantee you will have a fully functional amplifier. In fact, post build troubleshooting is a common issue across all builds.
Our staff is available to assist with basic troubleshooting needs. There are plenty of online videos available that are helpful with most post build issues. Technical staff is available via email by sending a message to email@example.com. You may also call our sales team to discuss build problems, dial 800-927-6656 and press 1 for sales.
Building a tube amplifier takes time, dedication, resources and most importantly... Skills! The experience of building an amp can come with some frustration, the reward of completing the build is definitely well worth your time. Please review the wiring diagram, schematic and manual (if applicable) prior to making your purchase. Mojotone will not accept any returns on amplifier kits and/or parts that have been assembled, soldered or modified.
Ratings & Reviews
This is my 4th build, and it's probably the most fun so far!
This is my 4th (first non-Fender style) build, and it's probably the most fun so far! I received the kit for Christmas and promptly put it together- zero issues. Well, there was one issue where I put a 12AU7 where a 12AX7 belonged- but that's on me for not paying attention.. Since this is a unique kit, I reached out to Mojotone for the target voltages and got a prompt response with the exact info. All the voltages checked out and I've been rocking ever since! It's deceptively loud, yet completely quiet at idle. Very much a "pro" sounding amp and not a toy.
Regarding assembly: I did have to enlarge a hole in the back panel as mentioned in a different review, as well as drill 2 holes to mount the board properly. I don't count that against Mojotone at all, because if you're measuring parts and soldering them into an amp (even as a novice) you should have basic tools like a power drill. It required the least amount of effort and less than 5 minutes of my time to set all of that straight.
I love how transparent this thing sounds.
To start, I'll say that my expectations were manageable going into this build. I've played on other low-wattage micro amps, and found they sound like crap. Not enough gain, minimal tone controls, thin, tinny tone, etc. A certain orange and white one comes to mind...
This amp sounds like a big boy amp, with all the big boy controls, but you dont have to replace your windows after "diming" the volume knob.
Not only is this kit more affordable, its not made in China, its not digital pcb solid-state nonsense, and its not filled with gimmicks, like other amps you might be considering.
I love how transparent this thing sounds. Its like my pickups are wired straight into the output transformer. It responds really well to different dynamics, and it really does sound huge.
Anyone with a little electronics experience should jump on this kit asap.
