Great upgrade!

by Jamie McParland -

I can't explain it. I ride the volume and tone all the way up all the time. Bought a used 87 SG custom and it sounded like crap with any pickup i put in it.

So i replaced the harness with one of these and it sounds amazing now! Great upgrade!

The sound..! Wow!!

by Dan C -

I recently purchased a 17 SG, the stock pots all had a different feeling (some gritty) and one volume kept crackling. The stock pcb/pots had muffled/muddy sound when knobs where turned down, it was pretty bad..

After attempting to get Gibson to send $20-$30. worth of real pots under warranty I was told the only thing I would get is another PCB set up.. so I ordered the Mojotone SG kit and installed it.

The kit was missing all the extra wire stated it came with. Running a fresh ground would have been nice while I had it all apart. The only install problem I had was the hard ground that comes attached to the pots had to be reheated to move the solder joint, the pots wouldn't drop in completely till I did that, No big deal.

The sound..! Wow!! I really couldn't believe the difference in the clarity.. I play mostly blues and standard tuning slide blues with a chewy cleanish tone. The string bends, I could have just been getting used to mud of stock but I swear I could hear the fibers of the note stretching on the bends and other harmonics were coming in on slide that added to the vocal quality I go for. I'm truly impressed, worth the price all day long! You could still send me that missing wire though.. ;)
