Tired of playing through those kiddie practice amps that lack tone as much as they do quality? Try our Mojotone Studio One Amplifier and bring awesome tube tone to your home or studio. Equipped with a single 12BH7, two 12AX7 tubes, and a 12AY7, this tiny amp works well in the studio or mic’d up on stage. And don’t be shy to put some pedals in front of it either, because it does play nicely with them.

About one watt of output sounds awesome for studio or home use! This is an ideal amp for the gain of an 800 style amp at low volumes. Stock setup includes 12BH7 for running as an output tube, however you can run a 12AU7 or 12AT7 for less output volume.

When purchasing a kit from Mojotone, you will receive the following documentation.

1. Schematic

2. Wiring Diagram / Layout

Our beginner level kits such as the tweed champ and tweed deluxe include a manual. If you purchase a kit from Mojotone and do not receive these documents, you can obtain copies by emailing tech@mojotone.com or calling 800-927-6656. The Mojotone staff is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST unless otherwise closed.

Mojotone kits include the best quality parts that are available at the time of purchase. If a substitution is required, our team will use parts that are of equal quality to ensure the integrity of the kit build remains the same.

Building a fully functional amplifier kit is not an easy task. Before building a kit, one should have the ability to properly solder as well as read and understand a schematic and wiring diagram. While we do our very best to ensure all documentation is current, the included documentation is meant to serve as an overall guide to building the amplifier. Simply following the schematic and wiring diagram does not guarantee you will have a fully functional amplifier. In fact, post build troubleshooting is a common issue across all builds.

Our staff is available to assist with basic troubleshooting needs. There are plenty of online videos available that are helpful with most post build issues. Technical staff is available via email by sending a message to tech@mojotone.com. You may also call our sales team to discuss build problems, dial 800-927-6656 and press 1 for sales.

Building a tube amplifier takes time, dedication, resources and most importantly... Skills! The experience of building an amp can come with some frustration, the reward of completing the build is definitely well worth your time. Please review the wiring diagram, schematic and manual (if applicable) prior to making your purchase. Mojotone will not accept any returns on amplifier kits and/or parts that have been assembled, soldered or modified.

The following documents are included. Please feel free to view and/or download them:

Great low power amp, very versatile. Pure tube sound.

by GlennS -

Built this as my first kit. I've worked in the electronics field for 40 years so wasn't worried about soldering skills etc. It was still a pleasant challenge to build this, and it sounds GREAT! I followed the lead dress shown in the diagram provided with the kit and have an amp with very little to no noise.

The only change I would make is to swap where the clean and dirty channels enter the relay board. Then the red LED would come on with the dirty channel. I drilled a hole and mounted the LED just beneath the jack for the switch pedal and its a bit confusing that it is located by the dirty channel controls but comes on when the clean channel is selected. Minor gripe but thought I'd mention it. One of these days I'll change it due to my OCD LOL.

All in all I'm very pleased with the way it turned out, it's definitely a keeper. Dirty channel has a nice crunch and clean channel is very clear.

Great tone at a manageable home level

by Doug -

Assembled kit with relative ease from schematic and diagram. I had previously built a Mojotone 5e3 kit, but this amp was both easier (turrets) but slightly more complex than the 5e3. I mismanaged the 18ga bus wire, but over all everything was pretty straight forward and it fired up first try. Sound great!!
