Mounted into a Marshall 18 watt tremolo clone 1x12" combo.

Compared to a 2009 G12M Reissue, this speaker is flatter with less midrange hump and slightly softer highs. There is less upper midrange emphasis and slightly more bass. This makes it slightly less aggressive and more balanced or laid back. More brown. The frequency balance can make it sound more plain or ordinary when compared to a G12M Reissue but that makes it more versatile. It doesn't impart its signature on the tone as much and allows the amp, guitar and playing to shine through more and is a trait of the original Pulsonic G12M.

Beyond frequencies, the tonal signature/feel is more earthy, complex and loose right out of the box. It sounds really good when brand new; no icepick highs and bass is full and rich right after mounting up.

The G12M Reissue is a good speaker, but it's always a very-forward and mid-heavy punchy woody howl. Sometimes that's just the ticket for certain classic rock styles.

While I’ve never played a vintage greenback, this is the late 60s early 70s British sound. At least to my ears.

This replaced a WGS Green Beret which is a good speaker. But this blows the Green Beret away.
