"...if you want to get as close as possible to vintage Gibson humbucker tone, the ’59 PAF Clones are a great way to go." -Guitar Player Magazine, May 2014

These '59 "Patent Applied For" Clones are for the tone purist. Authentic to every detail using all American made parts: 1959 spec butyrate bobbins, 1959 spec long leg frame, custom vintage spec plain enamel wire, custom alnico 4 cast magnets, maple spacer, vintage spec screws, and vintage spec slugs.

These are very clear and warm with lots of single note articulation and amazing touch sensitivity. The upper frequency range has exceptional bloom and lots of airy tone with the un-potted coils. We meticulously wound each coil with our own pattern and offset to represent what we believe to be the best vintage P.A.F. examples out there.

Stock with vintage single conductor external braided leads and 49.2mm string spacing just like the originals. Un-potted coils.

Good replacement PAF style pickups

by Daniel

I ordered a pair of MJT PAF pickups for the neck and bridge of a Epiphone Joe Bonamassa Lazarus LP Guitar. It originally came with Gibson Burstbuckers which I felt were too hot and trebly. The MJT PAF pickups sound pretty good. They have a nice bite without being too trebly with a warm solid tone. I can get Billy Gibbons' tones out of the LP guitar now along with Gary Moore tones.

I’m Mad Now

by Ron Mallory

I bought the MT59 bridge pickup for my Gibson 61 Reissue SG, because I disliked the ”PAF” that came with the guitar. But now I am mad, because the lead PU shows how muddy the original “PAF” Neck PU is. Once my wife (money boss) clears another purchase, I will have the full set of MT 59 PU’s in my SG. Meanwhile, I just have to play my bridge PU and I am fine with that. I highly recommend you check these out if you want a great set of PU’s that will having you playing more and more. I am a pretty picky guy too!
