Mojotone Crandellcaster Limited Edition 62 Strat® Prewired Pickguard
Prepare to turn your Strat into a musical time machine! Mojotone was lucky enough to get our hands on an original 1962 Fender Stratocaster, bought by Wayne Powell Crandell in 1962 and left to his son upon his passing. This guitar perfectly exemplified the simple elegance of early Stratocasters, marked with the scars of forgotten adventures, and one listen let us know that it still had plenty of stories to tell. (See the video here.) So naturally, Mojotone was inspired to do what we do best: recreate this sound so that you can have it too!
To capture the magic of 1962, we made everything exactly to the specs that Fender used at the time: CTS Pots, a specially selected .05uF ceramic disc tone capacitor, a period-correct aluminum shielding plate, hand-beveled Alnico 5 rod magnets, a non-RWRP middle pickup, and lightly wax potted coils hand-wound with 42-gauge Formvar coil wire. This pickguard comes with an original-style CRL 3-way switch installed for true vintage operation, but also includes a 5-way CRL switch that you can install for modern switching. Plus, this Limited Edition package comes complete in a specially crafted wooden box covered in vintage Fender-style rough brown tolex.
Of course, components mean nothing if the tone isn't there, so we put a great deal of time and effort into giving these the sound and feel of original 1962 Strat pickups. It is like being transported back to the year when John Glenn first orbited the Earth, the Twist was the latest and greatest dance craze, and the world was about to hear Bob Dylan, The Beach Boys and The Beatles for the first time. For many of us, buying an actual 1962 Strat is a virtual impossibility, but our Crandellcaster 1962 Clone Strat Prewired Pickguard will get you as close to that tone as you can get without robbing a museum.

Fantastic and Clean
by EDWARD LOPEZ
I purchased a 61 Fender Vintage in red specifically for these pickups. My guitar tech said the tone was
One of the best he had heard. I couldn’t wait to get home. Once I plugged in, the pickups were so clean, clear and beautiful. I installed the included 5 way switch. With that, all the pickups sound amazing. I’m probably going to buy another set for my Japanese Jeff Beck Strat.
Fantastic Sound, just one nitpick.

Very nice and accurate, except why - and mojotone is not the only one - do you use a different screw type for the pickup height screws? They should be flat with the pickguard. Even Fender gets that right on the AVRIs, surprisingly.
