British Style 18W Guitar Tube Amp Kit

If you are looking for an amplifier that is compact, lightweight, but powerful, this is the jewel for you. It produces beautiful cleans and one of the best distortion tones ever produced. The 18 watt amplifier is the epitome of perfect vintage Marshall® tone.

The tones are faithful to original ’60s sound. You get strong power amp distortion at relatively low levels, creating the impression of a larger, louder amp. The highs sizzle with excitement, but never get nasty...The clean tones are wonderful too. They’re far from Fender-like, but they have an airy shimmer you don’t always associate with big British amps. The single-band tone control is a delight, with usable sounds throughout its range. This amp sounds good no matter how you set the controls.

When purchasing a kit from Mojotone, you will receive the following documentation.

1. Schematic

2. Wiring Diagram / Layout

If you purchase a kit from Mojotone and do not receive these documents, you can obtain copies by emailing tech@mojotone.com or calling 800-927-6656. The Mojotone staff is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST unless otherwise closed.

Mojotone kits include the best quality parts that are available at the time of purchase. If a substitution is required, our team will use parts that are of equal quality to ensure the integrity of the kit build remains the same.

Building a fully functional amplifier kit is not an easy task. Before building a kit, one should have the ability to properly solder as well as read and understand a schematic and wiring diagram. While we do our very best to ensure all documentation is current, the included documentation is meant to serve as an overall guide to building the amplifier. Simply following the schematic and wiring diagram does not guarantee you will have a fully functional amplifier. In fact, post build troubleshooting is a common issue across all builds.

Our staff is available to assist with basic troubleshooting needs. There are plenty of online videos available that are helpful with most post build issues. Technical staff is available via email by sending a message to tech@mojotone.com. You may also call our sales team to discuss build problems, dial 800-927-6656 and press 1 for sales.

Building a tube amplifier takes time, dedication, resources and most importantly... Skills! The experience of building an amp can come with some frustration, the reward of completing the build is definitely well worth your time. Please review the wiring diagram, schematic and manual (if applicable) prior to making your purchase. Mojotone will not accept any returns on amplifier kits and/or parts that have been assembled, soldered or modified.

Customer Review

"Man, what a killer amp! I bought this amp because I had to return TWO Vox AC15HW1 amps that died on me. Soooo happy with how this amp sounds! Both channels are very usable! The Black Beauty Alnico speaker sounds very nice, but I threw in a Celestion G12H30 70th Anniversary speaker and WOAH! Super punchy and articulate tone, with all the creamy'ness of a 15 watt hand-wired amp! Awesome amp guys!"

This is where high end tube amps need to be!

"Bought kit, had it shipped to Australia (240 volt), with cab in purple tolex! Everything arrived tip top. I quickly realised that the build was beyond my capabilities and farmed out assembly to my favoured amp tech (Dale Sherlock). If you are not familiar with electronics don't even try. The amp sounds sensational & records very nicely. Particularly in my (compact) project studio. The vibrato has an unctuous quality to it, with a distinctive compression that is very different to a Fender. 18 watts is plenty and I get to run it at 7-8 volume for rehearsal instead of 2 for my Hi-Watt / Marshall Plexi. This is where high end tube amps need to be! Get one. You will not be disappointed."

I look forward to picking up a few more of MOJOs clones in the future.

"Bouncing around to work in almost a dozen recording studios of differing sizes in NYC for the past decade has given me a lot of experience with all manner of guitar amplifiers. No amount of esoteric miking techniques, or later processing, will make up for an anemic guitar tone. My Deluxe Reverb and 18watt clones by MOJO give me all the tone that I've come to expect from their 'branded' cousins at a build quality and price point that cannot be rivaled by the 'original manufacturers'. Every guitarist that has had the opportunity to play thru them has been thrilled, and I look forward to picking up a few more of MOJOs clones in the future. - Stephen Kurpis Founder, Owner, & Operator of Vitruvian Sound NYC"
