Our Brownface Deluxe Style kits are modeled after the brown era model 6G3 from the earlier 1960s. Great for recording or small gigs. The amp can go from a tweed clean/dirty to a british style overdrive with the turn of the volume knob. Includes bias modulated tremolo.

If you purchase a kit from Mojotone and do not receive these documents, you can obtain copies by emailing tech@mojotone.com or calling 800-927-6656. Building a fully functional amplifier kit is not an easy task. Before building a kit, one should have the ability to properly solder as well as read and understand a schematic and wiring diagram. While we do our very best to ensure all documentation is current, the included documentation is meant to serve as an overall guide to building the amplifier. Simply following the schematic and wiring diagram does not guarantee you will have a fully functional amplifier. In fact, post build troubleshooting is a common issue across all builds.
Our staff is available to assist with basic troubleshooting needs. There are plenty of online videos available that are helpful with most post build issues. Building a tube amplifier takes time, dedication, resources and most importantly... Skills! The experience of building an amp can come with some frustration, the reward of completing the build is definitely well worth your time. Please review the wiring diagram, schematic and manual (if applicable) prior to making your purchase. Mojotone will not accept any returns on amplifier kits and/or parts that have been assembled, soldered or modified.

Do a Parts Inventory Before Beginning

I got this kit duirng hte height of the pandemic and had a number of problems with it. Parts were missing or were simply incorrect. I would advise that as soon as it arrives you go through and ensure EVERYTHING is in there. MT personnel did respond quickly when I emailed about the problems, but it would have saved a lot of time if I had done the inventory first.
A joy to build

First time building an amp. This kit was really easy to put together. Mojotone tech support was quick and helpful. If you have a decent soldering station and a good multimeter you'll be fine. Only issue was one of the holes in the chassis didn't line up with its counterpart in the eyelet board - easily fixed with a drill. I took my time putting this together and loved every minute.
The sound starts to break up with the volume at 4. By 7 it's very crunchy. There's really no need to go higher than that. With a boost pedal in front it breathes fire. I was surprised by how LOUD this amp gets. But the wattage is low enough that you can put a big, inexpensive rheostat between the amp and the speaker to lower the room volume while still driving the tubes hard.
I think it sounds best with single-coil pickups. I have a hard time getting any cleans from humbuckers unless I turn the guitar volume way down. It takes pedals really well at lower volumes too.
