This is one of 5 or so transistors that cross reference to the NTE/ECG452 JFET. There is a cheaper T0-92 variant that is about the same, but without the metal can casing. Unfortunately shielding can be an issue, with TO-92 epoxy cases. There are some ways to shield T0-92 cases, but the heatsinks/thermal coupling clips are getting hard to find. NTE bought ECG some time back, so this is a pretty darn close JFET to the NTE452. Unless I am buying 12 or more of these, Mojo is the place to buy them. I like the old 2F439s better, but good luck finding one! I can get these for under $6 each, but shipping costs negate any savings.
