Mojotone has cloned the original 1959 Strat® pickups that recreate the unmistakable 1959 tone. These pickups are an important part of the evolution of guitar electronics and we knew we needed to recreate them in the most ideal way possible. We copied a specific set of original 1959 Strat® pickups that really caught our attention and stood out as something very special.
Each coil is handwound to the exact same specifications. We painstakingly went out of our way to use the exact same materials and manufacturing methods. Sand cast Alnico 5 beveled magnets, vintage-spec heavy Formvar coil wire and lightly wax potted just like the originals.
These have amazing warmth and clarity that absolutely nail that 1959 Strat® sound.

I totally love these pickups. I am a huge fan of SRV and Rory Gallagher, and these totally nail their early tones. I am so glad I got away from the overwound pickups I removed from my Strat, and went with the tones of 1959. Sweet tone in every pick-up and position.

I've tried many pickups. CS Texas Specials, 57/62 reissues, American Fender, Lollar, Noiseless...you name it. But these 59 Strat Clones are my absolute favorite. I installed an SSS set in a 57 AVRI body. I also used a Mojotone Strat wiring harness w/treble bleed. When you hear an old strat you hear that bell like ring. These pickups may be old but they do have that bell tone like quality without being brittle. They also have a slight edge to them when overdriven without being harsh. Absolutely, fantastic strat pickups in my opinion and my favorite so far.
