SICK! (The good kind)

Was in the market for a classic Alnico sound for my 66 Deluxe Reverb. Messaged mojotone when I found this one (excellent customer service). They swore this was possibly the best so I pulled the trigger and got one. After a few days with it I can say they are right! Beautiful breakup, sweet from low to high, it does it all very well. No flub. It’s SICK!
Light and lovable.

At slightly over 3lbs this speaker is surprisingly lightweight. I just picked up a few British Neodymium speakers and the Anthem weighs slightly less than all of them. The 97 db sensitivity/efficiency rating seems to make it a little “quieter” allowing me to crank my go to amp just a little more than I usually do which is nice. The signature compression associated with Alnico magnets is present without the lovable yet “clanky” mids that British Blue speakers are typically associated with. The overall eq is fairly neutral with neither lows, mids, or highs dominating. At the current $160 price the are a very economical offering for an Alnico speaker which means I’ll probably be buying at least one more.
