Celestion Alnico Blue 12'' Speaker 16 Ohm 15W
The Blue found favour with notable guitarists like Brian May, due to its glorious dampened attack, warm lows, mellow upper-mids and brilliant belllike top-end. When coupled with a suitable amplifier it evokes rich definition and develops beautiful musical compression when pushed. According to tone enthusiasts worldwide, the Blue is the benchmark for guitar speaker perfection.

Took awhile to narrow down the best sounding speaker for my 2x12; fortunately I had the sound comparison samples on Celestion's site along with a large collection from ConeTones (http://www.cdbaby.com/Artist/GTRAudio) to audition. And in both cases... at least in terms of the high-gain tones that matter to me, Blue was best. Some others I swapped out included the Celestion V30, G12-M & G12-H; the Blues were the most "mix-ready" of the four, free of hollow boxiness & barkiness, well-balanced and clear without being ice-picky. Also, these are actually made in Ipswich, England which I suppose doesn't hurt.
The downside of these speakers is the low power handling (15W) and the price, of course. But you get what you pay for. Problem solvers!
