Pre-Wired Premium Historic Les Paul Wiring Harness (Long Shaft)
Have you ever noticed how your volume controls are not independent from each other in the middle position? Or how about where your treble drops off immediately when you roll the volume down? These could be considered flaws especially for those who like to use their volume and tone controls. Vintage 50's wiring reduces the treble loss when rolling your volume down and increases the overall presence of your sound, but you still don't have independent volume and tone controls in the middle position.
Our unique independent 50's wiring utilizes the benefits of vintage style wiring with a no compromise solution for independent volume controls in the middle position. Each position on your 3-way toggle will benefit from the 50's wiring with more overall presence and less treble loss when rolling the volume back, while allowing you to have smooth independent volume controls for each pickup in the middle position. That along with our easy to turn custom vintage taper CTS pots, authentic reproduction Luxe Sprague Bumblebee paper and oil capacitors, and Switchcraft toggle switch and jack, makes this the most worthy upgrade for your Les Paul!
Wait there's one more thing! We also use a lower value .015uf capacitor on the neck tone control to brighten the neck pickup tone. The bridge pickup gets the standard value .022uf cap for a smooth and warmer tone. Some call this capacitor mod "Woman Tone" but we just find it's more useful overall for dialing in all of the small details that add up to better tone.

Long shaft pots, not so long shaft switch

A great wiring kit that does exactly what I need and is a drop in replacement for the PCB that originally came with my Les Paul. The pots and capacitors are all great and soldered together much more neatly than I ever could do myself.
I did run into an issue where the shaft of the pickup switch isn't log enough to make it through the guitar's body as well as the poker chip. At least on a 2016 Les Paul Studio. It will fit without the poker chip, but I'm vain. So I re-used the stock switch. If you go that route, be aware that the terminals for the connections between the switch and the jack input are flipped on the switch in this kit and the stock Gibson switch, so if you're using the kit's wiring for the switch, you'll need to add a slight extension on the ground wire to reach the opposite side of the switch.
All in all it's a solid kit that does what it says it does and allows you to control your volume and tone for each pickup when the switch is in the middle.
Thanks for a great product!

My Les Paul sounds great now! The controls are much more usable and having independent volume controls in the middle position gives me way more tonal options than I've ever had on a Les Paul before. Thanks for a great product!
