Volume Mod for Guitars
Keep more of your tone!
This is a 220K resistor in parallel with a 471pf capacitor. The capacitor acts as a "treble bleed" to preserve high end frequencies, while the resistor improves the taper when rolling back your volume potentiometer.
We use these in many of our pre-wired guitar assemblies.

The volume mods are soldered in parallel between the first and second lugs (2 open lugs) of the volume pot.

This volume mod works as stated. Treble is retained as volume is decreased. In combination with the Mojotone Vintage Taper pot, I now have consistent tone over the entire sweep of the volume pot. Perfect.

I've been using these for years because the lower value of the capacitor results in a less drastic effect as I lower my volume. Thus sounding very natural, instead of getting spikey like most circuits of this type with a much higher value capacitor.
